Stormwater Management Plans

Stormwater management plans, also known as hydraulic or stormwater drainage plans illustrate the safe and acceptable disposal of stormwater from a site. Stormwater management typically consists of collecting stormwater from the roof, driveways, and other hard surface areas as well as grassed areas in some cases from a site through a system of gutters, pipes, pits etc and disposing of it via an approved method.

Typically, stormwater drainage will be designed to council requirements with the use of gravity, where land falls naturally to the kerb and gutter. However, in many instances, where the site slopes to the rear, other measures will be required. At Gilcon, our hydraulic engineers will exhaust every possible option to ensure the most effective drainage solution is provided. In such instances, alternative measures such as charged systems, easements or absorption pits will be incorporated.

Our prices for stormwater management plans vary, with plans generally starting from around $500 + GST, and consist of:

  • Stormwater drainage layout plan,
  • Detailed summary of hydraulic calculations tabulated for Council’s review. An item not many firms provide – this may result in further delays for hydraulic clarification and
  • Detailed sections of stormwater drainage components such as pits, pipes, rainwater tanks, OSD systems etc.
